Custom Build Club Process

There is a huge difference between custom fit and custom built. Custom fit is just part of the process, here at Orka Golf we ensure that your clubs are tailored to you and your swing nuances. This ensures you get the absolute most from your clubs and technique in order to to achieve your optimal.

The Step by Step Process:

1. Your fitting - You will try a range of shafts and heads in order to find the perfect combination for you. The most crucial part of any golf club is the shaft. Followed by the head.

2. Here at Orka Golf, pre assembly we will weight source every component such as the head, shaft, grip, ferrule and even the amount of grip tape we intend to use. This process allows us to collate the overall total weight of each individual club. This will then allow us to correctly swing weight your clubs to be within the tightest tolerances.

3. One the components are weight sorted, we will loft and lie the heads of your set to ensure everything is correct prior to shaft installation and gluing.

4. The next phase is to ensure your shafts are the correct flex, a process we use for this is called "frequency matching". This determines whether or not we need to tip trim the shafts to be within the required flex frequency.

5. Another process we use is called MOI matching, which we implement over swing weighting when and where required.

6. Once your shafts have been frequency matched, we will then spine align them, this is a process whereby we find the shafts spine or strong point and then install the shaft into the head, ensuring the spin is in the correct position.

7. Prior to installing the shaft, we will have calculated how much swing weight is required for your specifications. A brass tip weight will be installed in the head should it be required to ensure your irons are within our high standards and tolerances.

8. At this point the head and shaft are then glued using DP810 glue, the only glue that should be used.

9. Once the clubs have cured, which typically takes 1hr, we will then double check the swing weights where required before installing your chosen grips. Each club will have been assigned its individual grip during the weight sourcing process.

10, Prior to the final QC check, your clubs ferrules are tuned down and cleaned.

11. Once your grips are installed, and ferrules turned down, the final part of the process is to QC check them, before boxing your new Orka's and shipping them to you.

With every set purchased we offer life time loft and lie alterations. For more information on this, please do get in touch.
